OUR TOP PICKS: SUNSCREEN EDITION

There is a minute chance that you or someone you know has not been affected by cancer in some form or fashion.

Skin cancer is one of the most preventable forms of cancer, yet has one of the highest rates of those affected. Is this due to lack of care, lack of knowledge, forgetfulness of reapplication, or simply purchasing products that we as consumers have been tricked into thinking that we can rely on.

Not all sunscreens are made equally – this is why we have composed a list of our top choices for Summer 2018.

First of all, how do we choose the right sunscreen?

To begin, look for a broad-spectrum sunscreen, which will protect against both UVA and UVB rays.

Choose one with an SPF at a minimum of 30 that is also water resistant – Even if you won’t be in water, this will make sunscreen last long into your summer days of sweating, especially in the Texas heat that we enjoy daily.

To be sure of a consistent application, while sprays may be more convenient, lotions are proven to be better at all over application. Keep this in mind when keeping your little ones protected from the sun’s UV rays throughout the summer.

Remember to reapply as directed on the package, and be informed of common misunderstandings surrounding sunscreen. Even the best products with the highest SPF protection will need to be reapplied every so often while in the sun.

We also suggest pairing your sunscreen with an after sun lotion or aloe, to further protect the skin and keep your body moisturized skin deep.

Here are some of our favorites as well as the top rated sunscreens by dermatologists for Summer 2018 –

  1. I’m really enjoying the design and layout
of your blog. It’s a very easy on the eyes which makes it much more
enjoyable for me to come here and visit more often.

  2. I know this if off topic but I’m looking
into starting my own blog and was wondering what all is needed to
get set up? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny?
I’m not very internet smart so I’m not 100% certain. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers
